Abstract Science Construction’s business is in planning, developing and building road projects. The major of its clients are municipalities, city governments, and other public sector entities. While the bankruptcy rates for these clients is very low, when economic downturns happen, their ability to pay in a timely fashion also suffers. This leads to businesses such as Science Construction needing to take on additional debt and to find creative methods in order to stay afloat during times of recession. Methods such as selling accounts receivables at discounted rates and taking larger lines of credit through banks and other lending institutions are some of the ways organizations can remain viable when their cash inflows have turned into a trickle. Science Construction is asking the Turkish Courts to postpone their bankruptcy proceedings for a year while they attempt to restructure. Through this, suggestions such as forcing shareholders to pay their debt to the organization, gaining credi...
Data explosion can be explained as the continuous steady increase in the volume, and the variety of all types of data. With today's invasion of information technology and information systems, the whole world is turning into a digital world. Computers and massive storage devices enable and facilitate keeping vast amounts of data. Humans are putting all their efforts to store all data available for future reference. This is done everyday through everyday use of computers, smart devices and other forms of technology. Organizations and businesses might find it difficult to store such data; however, with cloud computing being introduced, everything is getting possible and accessible at any time with no limited storage capacity. It is a software interpretation of Moore's theory which predicts an exponential increase in the speed of technology as time goes by. i can say technology overgrowth leads to increased human use and as a result "data explosion!" (Marr, B., 2016)
According to (Davenport, T., 2006), data analytics can be a source of sustainable competitive advantage. We are now transitioning to the era of "Big Data, Cloud Computing, and Artificial Intelligence." Companies, businesses, and organizations that provide similar services or products will have the advantage of using advanced technology to collect new data, analyze new and stored data, and sort data accordingly to obtain detailed information that reflects their internal and external performance, and their ranking in the market in comparison to the other competitors. Analytics provides a competitive advantage by helping businesses; optimizing or reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and improving performance and above all appropriate decision-making process.
As an expert in the healthcare industry, I can say that technology is playing a significant role! "Machine learning, deep machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI)" are now trending, all are entirely depending on data and data analytics. Data can either be in the form of clinical notes, labs or the type of medical imaging. Software engineers, developers, and innovators with the help of researchers and clinicians through the clinical data science centers are trying to work together to make use all the existing clinical and medical data stored in the hospital information systems (HIS), radiology information systems(RIS) and clinical information systems (CIS).
The stored data is sorted and analyzed to create algorithms and applications that will later helps in diagnosis and treatment. "Artificial intelligence" aims to maximize efficiency and proficiency in the healthcare industry, it's turning computer minds to be similar to human minds in having the ability to think and interpret the received data and as a result provide a provisional diagnosis, which in return will be saving time and money for physicians, patients, healthcare facilities, and insurance companies (Raffy, P., 2018)
Such attempts will significantly help in research too; the nature of the disease, the typical age for the disease, the underlying causes as well as the progress of the disease will improve and positively impact research results.
Another example for the use of data analytics in the medical field is the use of "Robots" that are currently performing surgical procedures replacing surgeons with 100% accuracy and efficiency rate, again saving time and money and above all eliminating certain complications. Companies that are having the lead and highly competing within the healthcare industry field and AI include but not limited to; GE, Siemens, Philips.
